Biomass

Biomass includes all plants and plant-derived material, and can be used as a sustainable feedstock for the production of transportation fuels, heat and power. Biomass includes everything from fire wood, food crops, grassy and woody plants, residues from agriculture or forestry, oil-rich algae, and the organic component of municipal and industrial wastes, and can be used to make products like biodiesel or ethanol for transportation fuels, or methane gas to create electricity.
